About

MeWhen I was eight years old, my mom got frustrated with the amount of television our family was watching. One day when I was at school, she sold the TV. For a year and a half, our family had no television. Though I hated it at the time, it was during that year and a half that my lifelong love for reading was born.

Instead of watching the TV shows my friends were watching at night, I was curled up with a Little House on the Prairie book, imagining what life was like on the prairie without amenities like electricity and running water.

I imagined what life would be like as a twin, when I read the Bobbsey Twins series. I loved the The Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew, and the Betsy-Tacy books.

I learned to love the library, wandering up and down the aisles, running my fingers along the book bindings. I learned to love the smell of an old book…or a new book. To this day, I can spend hours in the library or at the bookstore, just browsing different genres of books.

I love fiction, though I usually stick to Christian fiction, because I don’t like the tawdry romance found in some non-Christian novels. And these days there’s enough Christian fiction available that I don’t have a reason to read non-Christian fiction.

I’m also an insatiable information addict. I love non-fiction books on finance, cooking, health, parenting, and a host of other subjects in between.

I started Lynnae’s Bookshelf to promote quality books and to become a good resource for my readers. By writing reviews of everything I read, hopefully you can find the information you need, before you decide whether a book is worth buying or not.

And to have a little fun, I will be giving books away on a semi-regular basis. Since I love reading so much, I want to spread the love of reading around. What better way than to have book giveaways?

So grab a cup of tea, sit down, and read a while. I hope you find something you like.
